Are you the type of fan who despairs at
your clubs latest big signing?
Did you disagree with the latest England
squad and team selection or think you could have got them through to
the World Cup Final?
Think you could do a better job than
those paid thousands?
Well here’s your chance to prove it!
Let’s get this straight - EIRL is no
ordinary fantasy rugby league competition. You won’t be asked to select the
13 super league players you think will score the most tries this season.
What you will be asked to do is draft
your own squad and run your own first team and reserves, manage players
contracts, training schedules, finances, media reports and trades between
teams.
You chose your own line ups, tactics and
training plans.
You’re the boss and you answer to
nobody. You’ll be judged purely on your results.
So what if people disagree with you?
This is your team, not theirs!

HOW IT WORKS
The EIRL is an affiliate competition of
the highly successful International Interactive Rugby League (IIRL) and
uses the same rugby league simulator created by Graeme Kirk.
Each player in our database is rated out
of 10 in five categories : attack, defence, kicking, goal kicking and
match temperament. The better your player the more money he’ll cost you and
you have a salary cap to meet.
Once you’ve got your squad assembled you
need to decide how they’ll play. Got great halfbacks? A huge forward
pack? A backline to die for? Just decide where your strengths are and
pick your tactics accordingly.
Once you’ve e-mailed this info for your
game it’s inputted into the simulator (RLSim).
The sim takes on board your team
selection and tactics (as well as your opponents) and produces a match
report and a form guide for your team.
Every set of six is played out, with
bone crunching defence and sublime skills deciding the outcome.
At the end of your game you’ll need to
assess your squad for injuries and see who’s playing out of their skin and whose
out of salts. And now to make it even more difficult, sin-binned players
are automatically suspended for their next game, so you need to make sure
you don’t rack up a whole host of bans.
You’ll even be allowed to train your
players to improve them, with unlimited training available during the
season you’ll have to choose wisely on how you spend your team finances.
Come on and give it a go!
We’re particularly interested in hearing
from female wannabe coaches and fans in countries outside of GB.
