Training

TRAINING REQUESTS SHOULD BE SENT TO TO BE CONFIRMED

Following a consultation exercise on proposed rule changes for the 2009 season, there have been several key changes to the Training Rules. Please ensure you are aware of them before submitting training.

Below are the training rules for the 2009 season.  All rules are made wth the best interests of fair and even competition in mind.

Training orders are to be sent to the EIRL Training Commissioner as detailed above and must be received by them no later than 6pm (UK Time) two days prior to the team orders deadline for the next round of games.  In most instances this will therefore be 6pm on a Wednesday.

At the discretion of the League President or Training Commissioner, this deadline may be extended or altered as necessary and if this is the case, an announcement to this effect will be made to the e-mail group and Telegraph blog.

REGULAR SEASON AND PLAY OFF TRAINING

The following rules shall apply to training during the course of the regular season and play-off series:

  • Teams may use a maximum of 10 training points during the course of the regular season and these will be awarded to all teams after the completion of League Round 1.
  • A record of the number of training points used will be kept by the Training Commissioner.
  • At a random point during the season, the League President shall award teams an extra ONE training point to use, in addition to the ten above to be used that week on a “use it or lose it” basis.  Teams will still have to pay for the training.
  • There is no limit on the number of training points used in a week, as long as there are sufficient funds to cover the cost of the proposed training.
  • No training shall be permitted in the week prior to cup games, however, physiotherapy (see below) will be permitted for all teams involved in a cup game that week.  Teams without a cup game will not be permitted to use physiotherapy (but will, by having a week off from games have the health of all players reduced by one week).
  • A player may be trained at any form level, however, upon training, the players form will be reset to 100.
  • Injured players who are specifically rested (see Team Orders rules) will receive a reduction in their health of 1 week.
  • No player with a health rating of 3 or more may be trained.
  • Physiotherapy may be used to treat players with a health rating of 3 or more.
  • Once a player has recovered to a health rating of 2 or less he may not be subject to physiotherapy.
  • Physiotherapy will be charged at £45,000 per point.  There is no maximum to the amount of physiotherapy that can be applied in each week, however, only one point may be used per player.  You may use physiotherapy in conjunction with resting a player.
